Wildfires break out in northeastern Algeria
Wildfires raged in Algeria’s northeastern provinces of Bejaja and Tizi-Ouzou, reports Asharq Al-Awsat and agencies, September 17.
No deaths occurred as a result of the fires and all those living in the vicinity were quickly evacuated.
Civil Protection helicopters and units were sent out to the region to put out the fires.
Just as recently as July, amidst a heatwave across the North African region, wildfires broke out in Kabylia, killing around 40 people as 1,500 had to be evacuated.
