Moroccan anti-terror forces dismantle Daesh network
Moroccan anti-terror forces arrest four terrorists active in recruiting fighters to join “Daesh” in the Sahel-Saharan zone according to the Middle East online and agencies.
On the 29th and 30th of January, The Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) dismantled a terrorist network composed of four members in the cities of Tangier, Casablanca, Béni Mellal and Inzegane.
The network was found to be recruiting and sending fighters to join the Islamic State Group, also known as “Daesh” in the Sahel-Saharan zone.
The BCIJ said in a statement that “The searches carried out at the homes of the suspects, aged 35 to 40, led to the seizure of several electronic devices, sums of money, bladed weapons in the form of large sabres, hoods, gloves and a rifle”.
The BCIJ also added that investigations revealed this network coordinates with leaders of this organisation in the Sahel-Saharan region saying that their aim was facilitating extremists to join this area.

To determine their possible interconnections with terrorist organisations and reveal potential terrorist plans, the suspects were placed in police custody under investigation by the BCIJ.
They are under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office that is responsible for terrorist and extremism affairs and as soon as their investigation is finished, the accused will be brought before the courts, concluded the BCIJ.
In the wake of the incentives emanating from these organisations which are calling on people to join their ranks, particularly in the Sahel, the BCIJ have stated they are trying to take a more proactive approach in combating terrorist threats.
