Named the largest agricultural event in Africa, The International Agricultural Exhibition of Morocco (SIAM) was organised by Morocco’s Ministry of Agriculture.
The agriculture fair ran from the 22nd to the 28th of April, hosting 10 large tents which displayed various agricultural products and services.
The exhibition showcased various vegetables, fruits, fertilisers, and irrigation mechanisms, from various regions of Morocco, as well as abroad. This provided a valuable opportunity for participants to engage in conversations, exchange ideas and experiences, as well finding new markets.
This year, the fair welcomed Spain as a special guest of honour, while 70 countries and 1,500 exhibitions took part in the 16th edition of the expo.
The event follows Morocco’s 4-year drought that has plagued the country, particularly in its agricultural and water sectors.

Morocco’s water minister, Nizar Baraka stated that nearly 70% less rain has fallen during 2023 compared to an average year.
This led the Ministry of Agriculture to devise a plan to salvage Morocco’s water supply. By 2035, Morocco plans to produce 1.3 billion cubic meters of freshwater from eight desolation plants, powered by renewables.
