Algeria declares President Tebboune election winner

As reported by The Arab Weekly and agencies, President Abdulmadjid Tebboune was the overwhelming winner of the September 7 election on September 8th. 

Rival candidate Hassani Cherif claimed there were irregularities in the vote count, and less than half of the registered voters participated in the election.

Official preliminary results gave Tebboune 95% of the vote, enough to avoid a second-round run-off, with Abdelaali Hassani Cherif getting 3% and Youcef Aouchiche 2%.
