UN says warring parties in Sudan are disregarding international law
On September 10th, UN Human Rights Deputy High Commissioner Nada Al-Nashif condemned the warring parties in Sudan for disregarding international law, as reported by Africanews and agencies.Â
She spoke at the 57th session of the U.N. Human Rights Council in Geneva.Â
Her office is alarmed by the use of sexual violence as a weapon of war, citing 97 reported incidents involving 172 victims, mostly women and girls—a figure likely underreported.
