Mali junta suspends channel TV5 Monde
Mali’s ruling junta has suspended French-language channel TV5 Monde for three months on September 11th, according to AFP.
They cited a lack of “balance” in the channel’s coverage, specifically regarding reports of at least 15 civilian deaths in drone strikes in the northern town of Tinzaouatene.
The channel explained that, despite multiple direct requests, the Malian army had not yet provided its account of the events at the time the report was aired.
