120 people allege sexual misconduct against Diddy
The jailed rapper and mogul Sean “Diddy” Combes has been accused of sexual misconduct by 120 people, as he awaits trial on charges of sex trafficking, according to the African News via AP. Tony Buzbee, the Houston attorney representing them, said he expects lawsuits to be filed within the next month, with the majority expected to be filed in New York and LA.
“There are 60 males and 60 females who have joined us to pursue these claims as plaintiffs,” Buzbee told reporters. “In this group, 62% identify as African-American, 30% are white, the remainder Hispanic or Asian. The time frame of the acts complained of is very wide. The conduct at issue spans from the years 1991 all the way to this year, 2024. If you wonder why there are so many alleged victims, that’s your answer. We’re talking about more than 25 years of this type of conduct.”
The majority of the alleged abuse happened at parties held in New York, California and Florida where drinks laced with drugs were given to attendees, according to Buzbee. Some of the alleged abuse happened at auditions where “many times, especially young people, people wanting to break into the industry were coerced into this type of conduct in the promise of being made a star,” Buzbee said. A number of the accusers were minors at the time of the alleged incidents.
Combs, who for decades was one of hip-hop’s biggest stars, has also pleaded not guilty to racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, while Buzbee has also represented the women who accused NFL star Deshaun Watson of sexual assault and misconduct.
