Shelling kills 56 in Sudan market

At least 56 people were killed in Sudan after artillery shelling and air attacks on a vegetable market in Omdurman on February 1st, according to Al Jazeera.
The health ministry said at least 158 people were also wounded in the attack that was blamed on the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia who have been fighting the army-led government since April 2023.
Culture minister and government spokesperson Khalid al-Aleisir condemned the attack, and said casualties included many women and children. He said widespread destruction was caused by the attack.
Al Jazeera
