M23: DR Congo rebels break their own ceasefire in “ploy”

The Rwandan-backed M23 rebels in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), have launched a surprise offensive, breaking self-declared unilateral ceasefire the Congo government has called a “ploy”.
According to France24, after recently capturing the regional capital of Goma and declaring a ceasefire, the M23 launched a new offensive in the early hours of February 5th in eastern DRC, clashing with the Congolese armed forces
DRC government spokesman Patrick Muyaya said: “This is proof that the unilateral ceasefire that has been declared was, as usual, a ploy.”
