A Tunisian-Israeli dual citizen who served in the Israel-Hamas war has come under fire from fellow Tunisian nationals. The figure in question is Che Mimoun, a Tunisian Jewish singer from the city of Djerba.

According to Middle East Monitor, the singer has been spotted in various viral videos wearing an Israeli military uniform. The clips have angered many Tunisians due to widespread support for Palestine in the country. There are also talks of authorities becoming involved due to an incident of the singer’s “involvement” in burning homes, which was shared by a Palestinian outlet.

Mimoun has now restricted his social media to private after increasing pressure from many Tunisians for the dual national to receive punishment for joining the Israel-Hamas war, which is also against the law as it is illegal to enlist in foreign armies.
