Misinformation and antivax beliefs at the forefront of Morocco’s measles outbreak

According to The Arab Weekly, since 2023 Morocco has had more than 25,000 cases with 120 deaths reported in that time.

Vaccination rates have fallen since the COVID-19 pandemic, with new campaigns being launched in schools by Health officials to combat antivax sentiments.

Government Officials blame “false information that fuels public fear of vaccines” and “the global anti-vax movement”.
