Deep concern over Algeria – Mali tensions

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has reported “deep concern” over the ongoing tensions between Algeria and their southern neighbour of Mali, as reported by The New Arab on April 10th.

The two countries have no closed their airspace to each other after Algeria shot down another Malian drone.

ECOWAS has appealed to both sides to “de-escalate the tension, foster dialogue and use regional and continental mechanisms to settle differences”.
