Politicians begin hunger strike in Tunisian prison

Protests against the “authoritarian” rule of Tunisian President Kais Saied have been held as imprisoned politicians have begun a hunger strike, according to Saudi news agency Asharq Al-Awsat on April 9th.

Six opposition party politicians are now on hunger strike after being arrested for “dissent” in 2023.

Supporters of the Free constitution party have protested across the capital demanding the release of their leader Abir Moussi.
