Morocco’s women’s futsal team captured the Africa Cup of Nations title with a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory over Tanzania at Rabat’s Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex on the 30th of April.

According Moroccan government-friendly Hespress, after falling behind 2-0 early in the match, the Atlas Lionesses scored shortly before halftime to begin their comeback. Playing before a passionate home crowd, Morocco equalised with just six minutes remaining before dramatically securing the winning goal with only 11 seconds left on the clock.

Both finalists have qualified for the 2025 FIFA Women’s Futsal World Cup in the Philippines. Morocco’s tournament run included dominant victories over Namibia (8-1), Cameroon (7-1), and Angola (5-1) en route to the championship.
