Spanish parties press to suspend arms over Morocco abuses

Two Spanish political parties, EH Bildu and ERC, are calling for a suspension of arms and security equipment exports to Morocco, citing allegations of torture, forced disappearances, and excessive force by Moroccan authorities.
Their proposal, reported by Yabiladi on May 5th, which is tied to ongoing legislative reforms on defence exports, follows similar efforts in 2020 and demands independent investigations before any licences are issued.
The Sánchez government has rejected such calls, affirming that all exports comply with national and international law.
