Pakistan shoots down five Indian aircraft in latest escalation

Pakistan has shot down five Indian aircraft in the latest indication of descent into all-out conflict between the two nuclear powers.
According to The National on May 6th, Pakistan shot down the jets in a retaliatory move after India struck Pakistan with missiles on May 30th in their own retaliation for the terrorist attack which left 26 people dead in India-controlled Kashmir.
Described as “a shame” by US President Donald Trump, the rest of the world continues to scramble to de-escalate tensions between the two historical foes.
