Israel warns Houthis of harsh retaliation over attacks
On May 8th, Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz warned Yemen’s Houthi movement of severe consequences if it continues targeting Israel, Middle East Eye reported.
Posting on X, Katz issued a stern warning to Yemen’s Houthi group and their backers, vowing retaliation if attacks on Israel persist. “The Houthis will suffer heavy blows from Israel if they continue to fire at us”.
His remarks come as the Houthis confirmed that a ceasefire agreement on May 6th—mediated by the US and announced by President Donald Trump to stop attacks on American vessels—does not apply to Israel.
