Algerian FM warns of rising crises, urges African-led solutions

Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf warned that Africa faces escalating turmoil and stressed the need for African-led solutions, during a panel on “Peace, Security, and Governance”. AL24 News, an Algerian news channel, reported on May 21st.
He identified terrorism, especially in the Sahel, as the continent’s greatest threat, with over half of global terrorism deaths occurring in Africa.
Attaf criticised the ineffectiveness of African diplomacy, saying peace efforts have failed to match the growing instability. He called for urgent action and reaffirmed Algeria’s support for “African solutions to African problems” with strong international backing.
