At least 27 Palestinians were killed in southern Gaza on June 3rd, after Israeli forces opened fire near a humanitarian aid centre backed by Israel, according to The New Arab on June 4th.

It was the second incident in three days. UN Secretary-General António Guterres called the deaths of civilians seeking aid “unacceptable,” while the UN human rights chief warned that targeting civilians are war crimes.

The shooting occurred roughly one kilometre from a facility run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, which is seeking to replace UN-led aid efforts amid a worsening humanitarian crisis and ongoing blockade.
