Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian president, has called for the disarmament of Hamas and for global forces to operate to safeguard Palestinians, France said on June 10th.

In a letter for the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the president of France, Emmanuel Macron, Abbas discussed the key measures that he believes must be carried out to stop the Gaza conflict and to maintain regional peace, France 24 with AFP reported.

The Palestinian president said: “Hamas will no longer rule Gaza and must hand over its weapons and military capabilities to the Palestinian Security Forces.” He added that he was prepared to allow the deployment of international forces for the purpose of stability and protection.
