Martin Jay: Hamas-Israel ceasefire is “a great act of theatre”

Editor-in-chief of Maghrebi.org Martin Jay, has said that the advancement of the Gaza ceasefire deal, which has now been given the green light by Israel is “really a great act of theatre,” during an RT interview published on October 10th.

Jay, who is also an RT contributor said: “This ceasefire which has been agreed I think gives Trump and Netanyahu huge political capital. For Netanyahu it would be a major boost back home to get those hostages back.”

Jay also said that the push for the deal has also been prompted by US President Donald Trump eyeing a Nobel peace prize nomination, adding that the ceasefire plan will be “very, very short-term.”
