Book links Israel to death of opposition leader
A new book has alleged that Israeli intelligence agencies were involved in the disappearance and suspected murder of Mehdi Ben Barka, a left-wing Moroccan opposition leader, according to Maghrebi Week on October 27th.
“The Ben Barka Affair: The End of Secrets” is set to be released in France later in October and is based on unreleased documents and reports from private archives.
Barka was the exiled leader of Morocco’s left-wing National Union of Popular Forces (UNFP), who was against King Hassan II and the Moroccan troops’ involvement in the 1963 Sand War against Algeria.
