Head of Israeli unit involved in Palestinian execution promoted
The commander of an undercover Israeli unit that killed two unarmed Palestinian men in the Occupied West Bank has been promoted to colonel by National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, according to the Middle East Eye and agencies on December 1st.
The men were shot and killed by security forces on November 27th in Jenin, with video footage appearing to show the men surrendering before being fired upon.
Ben-Gvir, is a major supporter of a bill that would impose the death penalty on Palestinians convicted of “terrorism.”
