The 22nd edition of the International Film Festival of Marrakech has opened in Morocco, with South Korean director Bong Joon-Ho leading the Jury, according to Hespress on 28th November. Many Moroccan and international actors were also in attendance, such as Jodie Foster and Jenna Ortega, with over 80 films being presented from 31 countries.

Thirteen films from emerging filmmakers are also in competition, with a focus on emerging filmmakers in world cinema. There is also a selection of Moroccan films and documentaries, promoting the national industry.

The festival aims to be a platform for upcoming actors and directors, and it also makes some sessions freely accessible to local audiences at Marrakech’s Meyden Theatre.
