Nigerian student speaks out about school abduction
Onyeka Chieme, an elementary school student from St. Mary’s catholic school in the Nigerian community of Papiri, spoke of his experience concerning the abduction of students from the school which took place on November 21st.
According to AP on December 11th, students woke up to a loud bang at the school gate, with many children still half asleep as they rushed out of their dorms, with some being met by gunmen.
Chieme was terrified as he heard thuds come closer and recalled jumping through a window with his friends. The gunmen chased the children with their motorbikes, shooting in the air, which startled Chieme and the other children.
