Death toll from Israel’s war on Gaza rises to 71,000
The death toll from Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza has risen to an estimated 71,266 people, as reported by Maghrebi Week on January 5th.
This estimate is based on a report by the Palestinian Health Ministry, published on December 27th. Reportedly, four people were killed by Israeli fire within 48 hours, while the bodies of 25 people were recovered and transported to hospitals.
On December 24th, it was reported that Israel had launched airstrikes within Gaza’s “yellow line”, which represents areas under Israeli control. These strikes occurred after Defence Minister Israel Katz announced that Israeli forces were “located deep inside Gaza” and would not withdraw.
