Morocco completes Israeli-bought air defence system activation
Morocco ramps up its defence with the completion of the deployment of an advanced air defence system called Barak MX, bought from Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), which is stationed at Rabat and the Sahara region, according to Maghrebi Week on January 19th.
The Barak MX is one of the most sought-after air defence systems, playing a crucial role in deterring threats and protecting critical infrastructure at a time when tensions between Morocco and Algeria are high, following Morocco’s claim over Western Sahara.
Morocco continues to import arms from Israel, while being its biggest trade partner in Africa.
