UK renews travel warning for Libya
The UK Foreign Office renewed its advice to citizens against travel to Libya, citing rising regional instability and the risk of sudden disruptions to air travel, internal movement and security, the Libya Review reported on January 19th.
The UK government said that individuals who choose to travel to Libya do so at their own risk and assume full legal responsibility for disregarding official travel advice.
The Foreign Office also stated that the UK does not provide consular services within Libya, which means that British citizens who are arrested, attacked, or involved in other serious incidents would not be able to receive direct assistance from a UK diplomatic mission.
