Tunisia received one of its worst torrential rainfalls in 70 years, killing at least four people in floods, with authorities concerned that the death toll could rise, according to a Reuters report on January 21st.
Videos on social media showed water moving quickly and sweeping debris through neighbourhoods, particularly in areas with lower sea levels and coastal towns.
Schools and public transportation were suspended in Tunis and some other districts, with emergency services working to deal with the scale of the flood.
