U.S. and Israeli generals hold pentagon talks over Iran
The top U.S. and Israeli generals held talks at the Pentagon amid rising tensions with Iran, two U.S. officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity, according to Al-Monitor on February 1st.
The officials provided no details about the closed‑door meeting between U.S. General Dan Caine, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Eyal Zamir, the Israeli chief of staff of the armed forces. The talks had not been previously disclosed.
The US has increased its naval presence and strengthened air defences across the Middle East after President Donald Trump repeatedly threatened Iran in an effort to push for negotiations.
