Libyan Red Crescent rescues 45 irregular migrants
The Libyan Red Crescent rescued 45 irregular migrants, including women and children, after their boat was found in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of the eastern port city of Tobruk, Libya Review reported on February 6th.
Following the Tobruk Coast Guard’s report of a migrant vessel in distress, a rescue operation was launched, and survivors received emergency medical and psychological assistance.
Libya remains a key transit point on the central Mediterranean migration route, where migrants continue to attempt dangerous sea crossings.
