UK: Palestine Action wins High Court challenge over ban
The High Court in London has ruled in favour of Palestine Action activists who were challenging the movement’s proscription as a terrorist group, reports Al Jazeera on 13th February.
In a significant legal win for the group, the court judged that the ban under the Terrorism Act had been unlawful, but it kept the ban in place pending appeal. Palestine Action’s co-founder Huda Ammori called the ruling “a monumental victory both for our fundamental freedoms here in Britain and in the struggle for freedom for the Palestinian people.”
Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood responded that she intended to appeal the judgment.
