Iran hears renewed anti-regime chants after rallies abroad
Residents in the Iranian capital of Tehran have been chanting slogans against Iran’s clerical leadership from their windows, as reported by Maghrebi Week on February 23rd.
The rooftop protests in Tehran took place one day after Iranians abroad staged large opposition rallies in cities across Europe and North America.
However, while members of the Iranian diaspora in Western cities have been calling for the end of the Islamic Republic, with some expressing nostalgia for the former monarchy, the streets of Tehran and other major Iranian cities have mainly remained empty.
