Moroccan GenZ 212 activist detained at airport
A French-based Moroccan activist, Zineb Kharroubi, was arrested and detained by Moroccan authorities after arriving at Marrakech airport on February 12th, as reported by Maghrebi Week on March 2nd.
The 28-year-old had supported youth-led demonstrations from abroad and was known among diaspora organisers. Following her detention, solidarity demonstrations were held in cities including Paris and Marseille, with participants calling for her release and greater transparency regarding judicial proceedings linked to the movement.
Moroccan authorities have stated that arrests and prosecutions related to the GenZ 212 demonstrations are aimed at preserving public order and are conducted in accordance with legal procedures.
