Libyan court sentences human trafficker to 30 years
A Libyan court has sentenced a convicted human trafficker to 30 years in prison, reports the Libya Gazette. The ruling follows a criminal case involving the smuggling of migrants through the country.
Prosecutors stated that the defendant was found guilty of organising irregular migration operations and endangering lives. The case was brought before the court after an investigation by security services.
Officials said the sentence forms part of ongoing efforts to combat trafficking networks operating in Libya.
