Royal Air Maroc has evacuated 270 Moroccan nationals stranded in Dubai, following disruptions to air travel across the Middle East, reports Moroccan government friendly Yabiladi.

The evacuation took place on 4 March through a special flight organised by the Moroccan national airline. It departed Dubai International Airport at 10:00 am local time and arrived at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca.

Earlier in the week, Royal Air Maroc announced the cancellation of scheduled flights to and from Doha and Dubai on 3 March. The airline advised affected passengers to check their flight status through its “Manage My Booking” service and contact its call centre or sales offices for rebooking options. The cancellations came after tensions rose in the region, following United States and Israeli strikes on Iran. Tehran and its allies later launched retaliatory missile and drone attacks across several Middle Eastern countries.
