Algeria and Morocco have both sided with Gulf countries targeted by Iranian strikes in the ongoing war, issuing statements of support, reports Maghrebi Week on 9th March.

Moroccan King Mohammed VI called Gulf leaders to express his “strong condemnation”, while Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf received their ambassadors and called for restraint. Both countries denounced the violation of these states’ sovereignty, but stopped short of condemning attacks on Iran.

American army bases in several Gulf countries, including Bahrain, Koweit and the United Arab Emirates were targeted by Iran in retaliation for strikes on Tehran. Dubai’s airport and the UAE’S Israeli embassy were also damaged.
