Libya and China launch joint committee in Beijing
Libya is deepening its political and economic opening to China by agreeing to establish a joint committee in Beijing, as reported by The Libya Gazette on March 30th.
The talks, which included Libyan and Chinese officials and ran alongside a March 19th–25th delegation visit, focused on political coordination, infrastructure, trade and the return of Chinese state-owned and private companies to Libya.
The move signals that Tripoli sees China as a long-term strategic partner for reconstruction, investment and diplomatic leverage, as Beijing gradually expands its renewed presence in Libya.
