Libya restores production at Sharara and El Feel oilfields
Libya restored full production at the Sharara and El Feel oilfields after repairing the export pipeline disruption that had affected one of the country’s most important energy corridors, as reported by Libya Gazette on April 6th.
The National Oil Corporation said output returned fully after maintenance was completed on the pipeline linking Sharara to storage tanks at the Zawiya refinery.
After days of fire damage, rerouted crude and partial shutdowns, the restart is meant to show that output and export capacity are back under control. But the discovery of exploded projectiles near the damaged pipeline underlines that Libya’s oil sector remains exposed to sabotage, infrastructure strain and the wider instability that has shaped production since 2011.
