Libya begins testing new gas recovery pipeline
Libya has begun a trial run of a long-delayed gas pipeline aimed at recovering large volumes of gas that were previously being flared, as reported by Libya Gazette on April 20th.
The 42-inch pipeline links the Intisar A/103 field to the Brega gas distribution network over about 130 kilometres and is expected to recover around 150 million cubic feet of gas per day.
The project had been stalled for around 16 years and is expected to ease the back pressure that had disrupted operations and forced some fields to shut down, making it more than a technical upgrade.
