Kufra corridor links Libya to Sudan war
Share

Satellite imagery analysis suggests that new transport routes have appeared in Kufra between south-east Libya, Chad and Sudan, pointing to a more organised logistical space in Libya’s far south, as reported by Libya Gazette on April 27th.

Analysis identified tracks consistent with truck and vehicle movement between late 2025 and early 2026, with one branch leading toward Chad and another entering Sudan outside official crossings, suggesting sustained cross-border movement.

Recent reporting has linked southern Libya to the movement of mercenaries, weapons and fuel in support of Sudan’s RSF, while more than 559,920 Sudanese refugees have arrived in Libya since April 2023. Southern Libya is therefore becoming one of the spaces where war logistics, forced displacement and contested sovereignty increasingly overlap.
