Security reform in Libya must protect workers
Libya is facing renewed concerns over public and workplace safety after the Berlin Process Security Working Group joined a structured dialogue session in Benghazi to discuss security sector governance, as reported by Libya Gazette on May 11th.
At the centre of the meeting was the question of how to unify Libya’s military and security institutions under legal frameworks and human rights standards.
These discussions are directly connected to the safety of those working in public life, including civil servants, journalists, municipal employees, health staff, airport personnel and civil society actors operating under fragmented armed authority and weak accountability.
