Libya’s militia abuses appears before the ICC

The International Criminal Court will hold a confirmation of charges hearing from May 19th to May 21st for the former senior member of al-Radaa Khaled Mohamed Ali El Hishri, as reported by Libya Gazette on May 18th.

The case is based on alleged crimes committed at Mitiga Prison between 2014 and 2020 against both Libyan and non Libyan detainees as the prosecutors is accusing El Hishri of committing 17 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

El Hishri was a senior figure in the Deterrence Apparatus for Countering Terrorism and Organised Crime known as al-Radaa, an organisation also affiliated with the Presidential Council.
