Al-Ittihad supporters set fire to part of Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah’s Cabinet Office in Tripoli after a suspended match against Misrata-based Al-Suwaihli escalated into violence, as reported by Libya Gazette on May 18th.

The match was stopped three minutes before full time after Al-Ittihad fans accused the referee of favouring Al-Suwaihli, this led to an unrest when supporters stormed the pitch causing damage and setting on fire an outside broadcasting vehicle.

The situation then escalated after forces from the 444 Brigade present at the match and led by a Misratan commander reportedly responded with live ammunition.
