On May 20th, the United Nations courts held their final session on the 1994 Rwandan genocide, as reported by Maghrebi Week on the 25th of May.

Félicien Kabuga was a primary defendant in this case, accused of financing and arming the genocide, but he passed on the 16th of May while in UN custody before his trial could conclude.

Arrested in 2020 in France after evading capture for nearly two decades, Kabuga died 6 years to the date of his arrest, held in the UN’s detention facility in The Hague.
