Iran war costs US the US $37.5 billion
As tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate, the cost of the US-Israeli war on Iran is estimated to be $37.5 billion for the US, as reported by Maghrebi Week on July 27th.
US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed this figure during a Senate appropriations committee hearing on July 21st. Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine were questioned about their request for a $1.5 trillion defence budget, including $70 billion for the war on Iran.
These figures come amid growing bipartisan support for halting US military aid to Israel over concerns about complicity in war crimes following Israel’s wars on Gaza, Lebanon and Iran.
