Libya’s doctors encouraged to apply for 2027 Arab doctor awards

The Ministry of Health of the Government of National Unity announced the opening of nominations for Libyan doctors for the Arab Doctor Award for the year 2027, as reported by Libya Eye on August 10th. 

The Ministry of Health said that the award aims to honor physicians who have given and have excellence, and to highlight their contributions to the development of medical practice and scientific research, in addition to supporting efforts aimed at upgrading health systems in Arab countries. The Ministry called on those with excellence and medical, scientific and humanitarian achievements to capitalize on the opportunity to apply to compete for the award. 

The award’s areas include excellence, scientific research, innovation, in addition to excellence, leadership, professional and medical impact, as well as good governance in the management and quality of health systems.  The field of “Resilience Medicine” is also included in the award, which is dedicated to appreciating the efforts of doctors and their humanitarian role in dealing with crises, disasters, and emergencies, alongside the services provided in exceptional circumstances. 

The Ministry of Health called on distinguished Libyan doctors, and those with scientific, professional and humanitarian initiatives and achievements, to take advantage of the opportunity to be nominated for the award. Participation contributes to highlighting Libyan medical competencies and distinguished experiences at the Arab level. Individuals who wish to apply are encouraged and required to review the award list and the approved criteria and conditions, and to send the required documents prior to September 30th, 2026 which is the deadline for applications to be accepted. 

The invitation from the Ministry of Health comes within the current framework of encouraging Libyan medical competencies to participate in Arab forums, and to highlight the experiences and achievements provided by Libyan doctors in the fields of treatment, scientific research, innovation, health management and humanitarian work.
