Libya’s education ministry reviews its latest data indicators
Libya’s Ministry of Education reviewed the latest indicators of the education sector and the data available through its digital platform, as reported by Libya Eye on August 28th.
The review came during its participation in the second training program of the Standing Committee for the Follow-up and Implementation of the Africa Agenda 2063.
The program’s work was concluded under the title “Deepening the Alignment of Africa Agenda 2063 from Reporting to Evidence-Based Sustainable Development Decision-Making”, with the participation of representatives to follow up on the implementation of the Agenda objectives and develop mechanisms for leveraging data in support of development policies.
According to the Ministry of Education, the Ministry participated in the work of the program through the Director of the Planning and Strategies Department, Chairman of the African Union Agenda 2063 Committee at the Ministry, who presented a visual presentation on the most recent indicators and real-time data that is available on the Ministry’s digital platform.
The presentation focused on reviewing the data and indicators provided by the platform, as part of following up on the Ministry’s performance and linking the available information to planning efforts and strategies related to the goals of the Africa Agenda 2063.
The conclusion of the program saw the recommendation to continue institutional coordination between shareholders, alongside exchanging experiences and data, and enhancing the alignment of national plans and policies with the goals of the Africa Agenda 2063.
The recommendations of the program emphasized the importance of utilizing accurate data and evidence in supporting the decision-making process, in order to contribute to efforts in achieving more sustainable development decisions while enhancing the integration between national plans and the broader development goals of the African continent.
The Africa Agenda 2063 is a framework for long-term development planning at the continental level, while follow-up and implementation aims at transforming goals and policies into measurable plans based not only on indicators but data as well.
