Malians scavenge for fuel due to blockade in Bamako

Malians lining up for fuel
After a blockade of fuel imports, commuters living in Bamako were lining up at petrol stations on October 6th in a desperate attempt to fill up their vehicles, according to Associated Press.Â
This was after a milliant group associated with Al-Qaida started the blockade in early September, after attacks from the group increased in recent months.
Some oil importers in the region have found alternative solutions to the shortage, with many using traders to transport fuel from the Senegal border into the capital.
Despite being rich in gold exports, it remains the sixth least developed nation in the world, with a high amount of poverty.
