An investigation by Moroccan media outlet Enass has revealed sexual abuse allegations against French priest Antoine Exelmans, involving migrant children in a refugee centre in Casablanca, according to an article published on 3rd November.

A statement had already been published in July 2024 by the Archbishop of Rabat, noting that he had been alerted of possible abuses by the priest, who has since left Morocco after he was informed of an official complaint lodged against him in Casablanca.

The Enass investigation has uncovered six victims, all from Guinea or Cameroon, who testified on repeated abuses when they were minors, hosted in an emergency accommodation service managed by Exelmans’ church. Enass denounced the “system of sexual exploitation”.
